What is IID's EnergyFlex program?

EnergyFlex is the program that rewards you for being a bit more flexible with your energy use. As a participant, you’ll help make energy cleaner and more affordable for everyone — plus you’ll get $25 when you enroll, and $25 for each additional season you participate.

Here’s how it works: on extremely hot days, energy demand can spike so much that getting power to everyone who needs it can become inefficient — and expensive. On days when we anticipate there will be a high demand for energy, EnergyFlex will schedule FlexHours events to shift some of your energy use out of the hours when demand is highest.

 

• Have a Wi-Fi enabled smart thermostat? When FlexHours are scheduled, we’ll work with your thermostat to automatically adjust your home’s temperature by a few degrees — no action needed on your part!
